Easter Artsparks

Wednesday 11th to Thursday 12th April

Inspired by the work of Shane Waltener and Andy Goldsworthy we will work with willow to make large outdoor nests and structures. Using the easter theme we will create decoupage eggs and chocolate sculpture that can nestle in their own miniature baskets. Full on day, full on fun!

Classes suitable for ages 5-14 and children will be grouped by age.
10am to 3.30pm

Summer Little Sparks

Tuesday 17th April to Tuesday 26th June

(holiday 1st May)
Little Sparks  weekly courses offer the ultimate in green outdoor art for preschoolers. These morning and afternoon sessions are packed with fun and messy indoor and outdoor activities which develop preschool skills in the beautiful environment of Jupiter Artland. Using the sculpture in its unique natural setting as a base, the children work on stimulating themed art and craft activities. Imaginative play, drama and music sessions alongside the art work add up to a wonderfully busy morning for little ones. Coffee and cake in the Proposals Room for mums and dads to meet and chat too.
Suitable for 2.5 year upwards

Magic Crystal Garden Workshop

Saturday 26th to Sunday 27th May

Design your own crystal garden. Using drawing, stencilling and 3-D cardboard cut-outs artist Natalie Taylor will guide you through miniature landscaping, that will come 'alive' with a crystal solution over several hours.
Using time-lapse filming watch as this subtle process is made spectacularly visible.
Alongside this we will be exploring the art of papercutting in the contemporary tradition and making our own Rob Ryanesque creations.
 
The workshop will be led by Edinburgh based artist Natalie Taylor who ran a hugely successful casting workshop here last year. www.natalietaylor.org.uk
 
Suitable for children 10+ accompanied by an adult.
 
Prices: £80 per adult and £60 per child. Please contact office for family packages.  
 
10am to 4pm with an hour for lunch and access to the Artland.

Saturday drop in workshops for June

Saturday 2nd to Saturday 30th June

These weekly 2 hour workshops will give children a fun and stimulating activity that will help them to engage with the sculpture at Jupiter. They will be run in the afternoon so children can have the opportunity of looking at the sculpture in the morning and then join the workshop to do a related activity in the afternoon. 2-4pm £6

June 23rd Mirror walk - tree gazing with concave and convex mirrors to capture the canopy view in the way Kapoor's works such as Cloudgate reflect nature and their enviroment.

Drop in Holiday Workshops

Friday 6th July to Friday 24th August

Every Friday throughout  the summer holidays Jupiter is offering drop in workshops. The two hour sessions will take their inspiration from the work of the Jupiter artists and will involve fun and inspiring outdoor activities. 10am to 12 noon or 1pm to 3pm £6

6th July:  Transient objects – looking at the work of Cornelia Parker we will drape cutlery and utensils from trees to create group sculptures with a difference.

20th July: Digging for Britain! Looking at the practise of our new artist Henry Castle we will dig for objects in the woods and then recreate them in various mediums.
