Littlesparks Remember the 5th November
Remember, remember the 5th November when Littlesparks went Firework crazy!! Might have been a bit frosty but we had a trio of fantastic firework arts activities to keep busy with first thing. Using pipettes filled with metallic paints we had great fun squirting paints across paper to look just like exploding fireworks. We then drew our own colourful fireworks using pastels of all colours and made some glitter explosions. Next we dimmed the lights to watch a video of the fireworks display that opened Jupiter Artland back in 2009. We learnt all about the artist Cornelia Parker and how she had exploded a piece of the moon in those very fireworks causing tiny bits of moon rock to be scattered all over the artland. Of course we went on a search and managed to find all the bits of moon rock that had been lost, (and covered them in glitter so we knew that those were the special bits of the moon.) We then made giant firework paintings squirting paint bottles of all colours over huge bits of black paper – what a delightful time we had and what fantastical firework paintings we made. With all the paint used though it might take several days to dry!
