EXHIBITION
DANIEL LIE: THE NEGATIVE YEARS

Saturday 18 May - Sunday 14 July 2019

The Negative Years extends across both indoor galleries and outdoor spaces at Jupiter Artland to create a series of immersive installations utilising raw materials sourced from the Jupiter Artland landscape including flora, wool, clay and wood.
From vast accumulations of live flowers gradually decaying to traditional ceramics slowly cultivating native fungi and spaces physically heated by bio-digestion heaps, Lie’s visceral environments play collaboratively with natural processes, foregrounding the agency of organisms and harnessing their energy.

MARY HURRELL

Saturday 24 August

Jupiter Artland has commissioned Mary Hurrell to create a new performance on the occasion of Edinburgh Art Festival and Jupiter Rising, the Artland’s annual music, art and performance festival coinciding with the Edinburgh Art Festival’s closing weekend.

Hurrell will produce a new site-specific work in two parts for the bodies of water at Jupiter Artland. Continuing her interest in relationships between water, emotional physical states and the feminine, the twin works will explore ideas around membranes or thresholds, as a space of connectivity between what is visible and invisible.

Jupiter Artland's summer exhibition is dedicated to the historic work of maverick New York choreographer Trisha Brown.
