Karl Hopwood is one of the UK’s leading experts on internet safety for young people, working with schools, teachers, pupils and parents to navigate the dangers and myriad benefits for children and teenagers learning, socialising and exploring their identities online.

His talk will centre around three questions:

• What are children and young people really doing when they go online?
• What are the real risks that they face – looking at the latest research as well as evidence from young people.
• What can parents do to help their children to benefit from the opportunities that the internet brings in a safe way – this will be a mixture of technical and practical solutions.
