Contract: Full-time 37.5 hours, Permanent – Full Availability Required

Jupiter Artland is a vibrant contemporary sculpture park and art foundation set across 100 acres of meadow and woodland just outside Edinburgh. Home to an internationally acclaimed collection of site-specific artworks, as well as a dynamic programme of exhibitions, education, and events, Jupiter Artland exists to engage and inspire through art, nature, and imagination.

The Role
We are seeking an outstanding Head of Front of House to lead the delivery of exceptional visitor experiences at Jupiter Artland. This is a senior role for a dynamic, hands-on leader who will take charge of all front-facing operations, including the visitor experience team, box office team, retail team and general presentation of the parkland. You’ll ensure every visitor receives a memorable, inspiring and accessible experience from the moment they arrive.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will champion high standards in hospitality/retail, team training, and operational excellence while reflecting Jupiter Artland’s ethos of creativity, inclusivity, and discovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead the entire Front of House operation, ensuring a world-class visitor experience across all touchpoints.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing, seasonal Front of House team, fostering a culture of creativity, warmth, and attentiveness.
  • Maintain seamless daily operations including admissions, retail, café support, wayfinding, and visitor services.
  • Ensure exceptional site presentation, accessibility, and health & safety standards at all times.
  • Act as the main escalation point for visitor concerns, complaints, or emergencies with calm professionalism.
  • Collaborate with the Programming, Learning, Retail, and Events teams to support the delivery of exhibitions, workshops, and large-scale events.
  • Analyse visitor feedback and operational performance to continually enhance the visitor journey.

About You

  • Significant experience in managing high-volume, visitor-facing teams in a art, cultural, heritage, or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
  • Passion for contemporary art, outdoor spaces, and creating inclusive and engaging visitor experiences.
  • Confident in handling logistical planning, rotas, and team development.
  • Comfortable with EPOS and booking systems, with a working knowledge of health & safety procedures.
  • Proficient Microsoft 365 user
  • Due to location a driver’s license is required.
