Public Engagement Assistants

Public Engagement Assistants

Jupiter Artland is an award-winning contemporary sculpture garden located just outside Edinburgh. JUPITER + is a new off-site commissioning programme, which sees world- class artworks brought to locations and communities across Scotland. The programme is powered by the belief that everyone should have access to the best of international art at their doorstep and our mission is to inspire the next generation of artists in Scotland.

Award winning artist Lindsey Mendick has been commissioned to bring work to Reform Street, Dundee open from September to December 2024. The artwork is accompanied by Jupiter’s Free Learning Programme, offering creative workshops to school and community groups. The JUPITER+ Orbit Youth Council, a group of 16-to-18 year olds from Dundee are also participating in the programme.

About the role

Jupiter Artland is recruiting Public Engagement Assistants to join the JUPITER+ Dundee team, presenting an outstanding installation by Lindsey Mendick on Dundee Reform Street this Autumn. The artwork, Growing pains, contains subversive ceramics with often outrageous and confronting imagery.  She is the voice of the vulnerable, confronting issues she faced as a teenager.

The Public Engagement Assistants will work onsite at the artwork, engaging members of the public and taking care of the artwork.
