Jupiter Rising X EAF 25

Jupiter Rising X EAF 25

Saturday August 16th, 6pm – midnight

Scotland’s artist-driven festival returns for one night only with experimental music, poetry, and performance. For 2025, JUPITER RISING lights up Jupiter Artland’s magical landscape with the folkloric, wyrd, and wonderful.

What to expect at Rising?

The packed line-up features a live solo set by iconic Glasgow artist and DJ TAAHLIAH, a curated line-up of poetry and performance from Waterwings Press, and the infamous late-night stage taken over by trailblazing hair salon and queer nightlife darlings Ponyboy. Party-goers can explore Jupiter Artland’s summer exhibitions by Guy Oliver and Jonathan Baldock after dark, and catch Baldock in conversation with Queer as Folklore author Sacha Coward.

Expect the usual art-drenched chaos, late night dancing, and stunning performance in the woodlands of Jupiter Artland. Limited bus tickets getting partygoers to and from Glasgow and Edinburgh will also be available.

FLORENCE PEAKE

Florence Peake will present new performance work To Love and to Cherish, marking the first part of the commissioned floor painting for the new wedding venue at Jupiter Artland. To Love and to Cherish plays with and subverts the idea of traditional marriage vows, during the performance, four dancers will paint directly onto the floor through passionate embrace and unwieldy connections. Through their fervent gestures the floor will be saturated in colour to form the base for a permanent floor painting.

TAAHLIAH

Hailing from Glasgow, TAAHLIAH released her much-anticipated debut-album Gramarye last year, via her longterm label partner untitled (recs), following singles ‘Boys,’ ‘2018’ and ‘Cherish’. The album is TAAHLIAH’s boldest statement yet – from the sensitive confessional writing, to the sharp dance cuts that embody the unbothered confidence of her wild club sets, this debut bares all sides of its creator. Gramarye takes its title from a folkloric word related to magic, enchantment and necromancy; the English word ‘glamour’ has its origins in this Scots word. As she pushes sonic boundaries through her fusion of electronic music with experimental pop, TAAHLIAH explores themes of vulnerability, transformation and hope.

PONYBOY

Glasgow-based Ponyboy will curate this year’s coveted Late Night Stage, following recently being crowned Britain’s best club night by Time Out.
