Jupiter Rising x EAF 2025

Jupiter Rising X EAF 25

Saturday August 16th, 6pm – midnight

Scotland’s artist-driven festival returns for one night only with experimental music, poetry, and performance. For 2025, JUPITER RISING lights up Jupiter Artland’s magical landscape with the folkloric, wyrd, and wonderful.

What’s on at Rising?

Photography: Femmergy, Rising 2024 by Neil Hanna

The packed line-up features a newly commissioned performance by Florence Peake, live solo set by iconic Glasgow artist and DJ TAAHLIAH, a curated line-up of poetry and performance from Waterwings Press, and the infamous late-night stage taken over by trailblazing hair salon and queer nightlife darlings Ponyboy. Party-goers can explore Jupiter Artland’s summer exhibitions by Guy Oliver and Jonathan Baldock after dark, and catch Baldock in conversation with Queer as Folklore author Sacha Coward.

Expect the usual art-drenched chaos, late night dancing, and stunning performance in the woodlands of Jupiter Artland. Limited bus tickets getting partygoers to and from Glasgow and Edinburgh will also be available.

Exhibitions

Guy Oliver: Millennial Prayer

9 Aug – 28 Sept

A sharp, satirical exploration of masculinity, politics, and pop culture 25 years after the millennium. Guy Oliver blends video, text, collage, and performance to unpack male identity, failure, and vulnerability through references to film, music, and internet culture. Millennial Prayer contains references to violence and misogynistic content.

Jonathan Baldock: WYRD

10 May – 28 Sept

Textile and clay creatures inspired by queer animal behaviours fill the Ballroom Gallery in this magical, folkloric new commission. Baldock’s WYRD celebrates otherness through fey, hybrid beings rooted in nature and myth.

Work Begat Work: Ian Hamilton Finlay & Andy Goldsworthy

11 April – 29 Sept |

A landmark pairing of two artists central to Jupiter Artland’s story. This exhibition features rarely seen works and unveils Goldsworthy’s Clay Tree Wall for the first time in over a decade.

Tickets | £13 / £7.50–£12 conc.
