ABOUT US

Jupiter Artland is a contemporary sculpture park located just outside Edinburgh.

Founded in 2009 by philanthropist art collectors Robert and Nicky Wilson, Jupiter has grown into one of Scotland’s most significant arts organisations and was nominated for ArtFund’s Museum of the Year in 2016. Set over 100 acres of meadow, woodland and five indoor gallery spaces, Jupiter Artland is home to 35 permanent site-specific sculptures from artists including Phyllida Barlow, Charles Jencks, Anish Kapoor, Cornelia Parker and Antony Gormley, as well as a seasonal programme of exhibitions and events.

At the heart of Jupiter Artland's work is our mission to engage with every school child in Scotland. Our ground-breaking learning programme offers free visits for nurseries, schools, colleges, universities and community groups. This is subsidised by paid for classes, workshops and events, ticket sales and donations. To date Jupiter Artland has welcomed over 25,000 learners to visit.

The story of jupiter artland

Robert and Nicky Wilson bought Bonnington House, a Jacobean manor house within an 100-acre estate, in 1999. Within a few years, the formal gardens, fields and woodlands surrounding this historic house began to suggest the perfect milieu for Nicky Wilson's long-held ambition to create a sculpture park.
