DURATION: 7th Sep – late December 2024, 7 hour days, up to 5 days a week, flexible working patterns available.

SALARY: £22,000 pro-rata

LOCATION: 18 High Street, Paisley, PA1 2BS

ABOUT JUPITER+ PAISLEY
JUPITER+ is a creative satellite programme by Jupiter Artland that brings world class contemporary artwork and transformative learning to High Streets throughout Scotland. JUPITER+ Paisley will bring Turner Prize-nominated artist Anya Gallaccio’s work Stroke to Paisley High Street. Gallaccio will take over an unoccupied shop space, coating the walls with layers of chocolate. A Learning Programme will run alongside the artwork, offering workshops to school and community groups. JUPITER+ will spark creativity and conversations that empower individuals to drive change and realise their full creative potential.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Jupiter Artland is recruiting Public Engagement Assistants to join the
JUPITER+ Paisley team, presenting an outstanding installation by Paisley-born artist Anya Gallaccio on the High Street this autumn. The Public Engagement Assistants will work onsite as invigilators, engaging members of the public, answering questions and taking care of the artwork.

MAIN DUTIES:
• Welcome members of the public and assist with questions.
• Invigilate the artwork, ensuring it does not get damaged.
• Communicate any issues to the Front of House Manager.
• Open and close the artwork each day.
• Track visitor numbers and support with visitor surveys.
• Promote accessibility and assist members of the public as required.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations.
• Support the Learning Team with group visits and public programme.
• Work as part of the overall JUPITER+ Paisley team in making the artwork and learning programme engaging and accessible.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
• Experience of working with the public.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interest in, and knowledge of, contemporary visual art.
• Awareness of access issues and disability awareness.
• Good time management.
